When the noise or cavitation becomes too high in Neles™ R-series V-port segment valves, the anti-cavitation Q-Trim™ technology turns out to be your best friend.
When the noise or cavitation becomes too high in Neles™ R-series V-port segment valves, the anti-cavitation Q-Trim™ technology turns out to be your best friend.
The functioning principle is fairly simple. When the flow goes through the valve, it goes through the Q-Trim™ metal perforated plate attached to the segment V-port ball. The holes in the plate force the flow to go through a defined path. This defined path is designed to reduce the pressure differential across the valve and therefore reduce cavitation and noise in the control valve.
The Q-Trim™ design is self-flushing, when the valve is fully open, the Q-Trim™ is parallel to the flow. Any solid particles that have been clogged in the Q-Trim™ will be flushed.
Q-Trim™ valves generally attenuate noise by more than 90% compared to standard trim valves.
