Stafsjö’s knife gate valve HX series is an extremely high pressure O-port valve for really extremely demanding applications up to 20 bar. It features excellent flow characteristics and provides a tight seal independent of pressure direction. The through-going gate ensures reliable shut-off on highly concentrated media such as pulp stock up to 18 % concentrations, liquor, powder, and ash.

The HX series is modularly designed and can be easily customized in materials, with actuators and related automation accessories to fit different process conditions. The HX automated assembly comes standard with proximity switch sockets to confirm the valve’s opening and closing. The valve design also allows for magnetic limit switches mounting.

Available sizes ranging from DN 200 – DN 900 (8″ – 36″).

The valve has an extra solid two-piece precision machined valve body with a high strength top works that provide an essential and precise gate alignment. As standard, it is available with a valve body in stainless steel.

The through-going gate is guided and internally supported throughout the entire stroke. It can operate smoothly through difficult and highly concentrated media. The retainer ring system on both side of the gate provide a tight seal independent of pressure direction. On each opening stroke the lower machined flat gate orifice force media upward and back into the pipe. When the HX is in open position you have an unobstructed flow path where no media can collect. The enlarged and reinforced PTFE seats are protected by the gate and retainer rings. The internal back-up o-rings keep the seats pressurized against the gate. The increased body and gate thickness make the gland box sealing system steady and reliable at high pressure loads. Stafsjö’s TwinPack braids and dual-reinforced PTFE scrapers ensure no media reaches the surrounding environment.

Stafsjö also offers two standard versions HG & HL Series for less demanding applications and two high pressure versions the HP & HPT series for applications up to 10 bar.
