The Small Volume Prover (SVP) is a unidirectional captive displacement prover. It offers an uncertainty better than API recommendation of 0.02%. It is the best choice for proving liquid Coriolis, Ultrasonic, Positive Displacement, and Turbine meters.
The Honeywell Small Volume Prover (SVP) is a next-generation unidirectional captive displacement prover designed to deliver exceptional accuracy and repeatability in flow meter calibration. Engineered to exceed the American Petroleum Institute (API) uncertainty requirement of 0.02%, the SVP is the preferred solution for proving Coriolis, Ultrasonic, Positive Displacement (PD), and Turbine flow meters across a wide range of liquid applications.
The SVP operates by retracting a precision piston within a smooth bore cylinder, initiating a proving cycle controlled by a flow computer. During the piston’s movement, pulses are sent to the counter system, enabling precise volume displacement measurement. The system’s integral bypass (poppet) valve and fail-safe design minimize process interruptions and ensure consistent performance regardless of meter location.
By enabling frequent and fast meter proving; often multiple times per day, the SVP helps operators reduce errors in meter factors, optimize profitability, and ensure compliance with international custody transfer standards. Its robust design and advanced control capabilities make it a cornerstone of precision measurement in terminal and pipeline operations.
