Description

GESTRA MK Thermostatic Steam Traps – Membrane Series

The MK series thermostatic steam traps from GESTRA are engineered for high-performance condensate removal and air venting in saturated steam systems. These traps utilize a balanced pressure membrane regulator, which responds rapidly to temperature changes, ensuring efficient operation even with minimal condensate accumulation. This makes them particularly effective in heat exchangers, steam tracing, and distribution drip trap applications.

Unlike mechanical traps, the MK membrane series leverages the thermal properties of steam and condensate to modulate the valve position. This design allows the trap to remain closed when steam is present and open when cooler condensate or air is detected, ensuring tight shut-off and energy-efficient operation.

Key Features:

  • Responsive membrane regulator for precise condensate discharge
  • Tight shut-off to prevent steam loss
  • Wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant materials for long service life
  • Uninfluenced by upstream or back pressure, ensuring consistent performance
  • Compact design suitable for confined installations
  • Wide range of models including MK 45-1, MK 45-2, MK 45A-1, MK 45A-2, MK 25/2, MK 35/2S, MK 36-51, MK 35/31, and others

Applications:

  • Heat exchangers (especially oversized units)
  • Steam tracing systems
  • Steam distribution lines
  • Air venting in steam systems
  • Industrial processes requiring precise condensate management

Benefits:

  • Energy savings through optimized steam usage
  • Increased productivity by maintaining thermal efficiency
  • Reduced maintenance time due to durable design and reliable operation

GESTRA’s MK thermostatic steam traps are available in various pressure classes (PN 25 to PN 40 / Class 150 to 300) and sizes (DN 15 to DN 50), with stainless steel options for demanding environments. They comply with international standards and are supported by comprehensive documentation including installation guides, data sheets, and declarations of conformity.
