Description

Draeger Polytron 8100 EC

The Draeger Polytron 8100 EC is a top-tier explosion-proof transmitter designed for the continuous detection of toxic gases and oxygen. It uses a high-performance, plug-and-play electrochemical DrägerSensor that delivers fast response times, high sensitivity, and long-term stability even in harsh environments.

Key Features

  • Sensor Technology: Detects over 100 toxic gases and oxygen using Dräger’s advanced electrochemical sensors. Sensors are pre-calibrated and store all configuration data internally.
  • Environmental Range: Operates reliably between -40 °C and +65 °C with humidity up to 100% non-condensing.
  • Digital Communication: Supports HART, Modbus RTU, PROFIBUS PA, and FOUNDATION Fieldbus H1. Easily integrates with asset management systems like PACTware.
  • User Interface: Large backlit LCD with green, yellow, and red status LEDs. Operated using a magnetic wand for non-intrusive access.
  • Relay Options: Optional three integrated relays allow standalone operation with two concentration alarms and one fault alarm.
  • Remote Sensor Capability: Sensor can be installed up to 30 meters away from the transmitter using an intrinsically safe connection, eliminating the need for conduit.
  • Housing: Available in epoxy-coated copper-free aluminum or stainless steel. Rated for Class I, Div. 1 hazardous locations and IP65/66/67 protection.
  • Dongle Expansion: Includes a data logger dongle for continuous recording. Optional dongles provide sensor self-test and advanced diagnostics.
