ABB Contrac compact electric actuator is designed for the operation of linear or rotary dampers and valves. The Contrac series excel where exact control and speed can improve efficiency and reduce cost.
Rotary electric actuators. The PME/RHD series are rated from 100 Nm to 16 000 Nm. A lever and linkage bar assembly is available when direct mounting is not available.
Linear electric actuators. The LME/RSD series are rated from 4 kN all the way up to 100 kN. The internal conversion of rotary to linear movement is done with minimal wear and the thrust rod transfers torque directly to the final control element.
They features oil-lubricated spur gear with drive shaft supported by ball bearings. They are designed for maintenance-free reliable operations for 10 years if used inside its specifications. However, special operating conditions like extreme ambient temperatures may limit the service life of elastomers and lubricants. As a result, the integrated maintenance microprocessor may in some cases recommend a maintenance operation after less than 10 years.
